"Congratulations" Christening Art Card - Combining Stamping and Dry Embossing With Digital Design!

Howzit Stampers!
I'm back today to show you the very special art card I made for my Nephew and Godson's Christening!  I was inspired by my recent W.O.W art cards I've been playing with for the last few weeks and combined some elements from them with digital design to create this elegant card my Sissypoo will treasure forever.

I used the 'Congratulations' sentiment stamp from Blockheads Paper Arts exclusive Verses Full Sheet for the inside of my card.

I hope you'll stop by my blog, Leigh S-B Designs, to see my tutorial and photos :0)

Until next time, keep stamping!

Hello Blockheads Fans!
Here's Part 3 of my creative adventures in exploring White on White Embossed and Die Cut Layering!  I love that the acronym for White on White is WOW coz these truly are WOW... LOL ;0)

I've been playing with creating dramatic effects by layering different shades of embossed and die cut white cardstock.  I absolutely love how the combined textures and play with shadows creates some pretty spectacular art cards!   Check out Part 1 and Part 2 if you missed them!

All of the sayings and words I'm using for this series of tutorials can be found on the Verses Full Sheet which is available unmounted or on cling cushion.  This time I used the saying,
A Real Friend...Is One Who Walks In When The Rest Of The World Walks Out,
as well as my favourite embossing folders.  You know I love my dominoes and other game related goodies so these were a serious must have for me ;0)  Blockheads Paper Arts carries a lot of Tim Holtz/Sizzix and Cuttlebug goodies as well as Spellbinders dies which I also used on this card.
Pop on over to my blog, Leigh S-B Designs, for the full tutorial with step-by-step photos!
I've got one more WOW card to share and then I'm excited to show you the Christening card I made for my precious nephew and Godson that uses elements from my WOW series but with some colour included too!  So stay tuned for those!
Have a great stamping weekend!

Round 2 of my Creative Adventures into White on White Embossed and Die Cut Layered Art Cards!

Happy Saturday Blockheads Fans!

This is Leigh aka The Sharpie Domino Queen and I'm back today to share another White on White Layered Art Card.  I've been having a blast playing with textures and shadows by using white on white cardstock that has been embossed and die cut.  Yesterday I shared my first card in the series, a 'Congratulations' art card for very special occasions - check it out if you missed it.  Today's card is equally as stunning and features the large upper case word 'DREAM' from Blockheads Paper Arts Versus Full sheet set of stamps and some T!m Holtz Alterations goodies.

Stay tuned for more of my White on White Embossed and Die Cut Layered Art Cards!

Happy Stamping!

Sympathy Card Inspiration by Leigh S-B

Howzit Blockheads!
I'm stopping by today to share my latest design team tutorial with you all.
Unfortunately at some point we all need inspiration for Sympathy cards and sadly I needed to design this card when my husband's Aunt passed away earlier this year.

The main feature of my card is the gorgeous Calendula flower stamp available from Blockheads Paper Arts exclusive line of stamps.  This large flower image comes on the large Flowers Sheet unmounted or cut on cling cushion.  Some of the flowers from this collection are available individually too!  Flowers are definitely the best go-to images for sympathy cards and I hope you never have the need to make one but at least I've given you some inspiration just in case!  But don't forget that my card design can easily be adapted to fit any occasion just by switching out the sentiment stamp you use!  Blockheads has some awesome sentiment stamps you should check out too!

Please pop on over to my blog, Leigh S-B Designs, and check out my tutorial with step-by-step photos!

Until next time...stamp happy!

Clear Envelope Shaker Card

This was a shaker card I made for my neice's birthday. I first learned to make shaker cards using acetate, foam tape and a lot of cutting and measuring. The result was fun but the process was not. This is my quick shortuct. I used a Type 2 A2 Clear Envelope and stamped the Songbird stamp from Prickley Pear using Timber Brown StazOn ink. After the ink was dry (about 2 minutes) I inserted mini pop dots into the envelope and adhered them to the corners.

This provides jut a little space for things to "shake" around. Then I added my inclusions and opted for 2mm silver micro beads, lavender .5mm microbeads, dew drops and tear drops and a few sequins I had kicking around. Then I cut the envelope down to the size I wanted it and sealed with plain scotch tape. I cut a piece of paper to go behind the shaker window and piece to go on top.

I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities die to cut a frame out of the top piece. I adhered the bottom piece of cardstock with double-sided tape, then adhered the shaker bag to the bottom piece and the top piece to the shaker bag and card with double sided tape. A few final touches to finish the card and it's done!
